My Story

My story begins in late August 2001.  That's when I was born.  I was born to my cat Mom.  I was part of a litter of kittens.

In early December, I was taken to Wayside Waifs, a shelter that takes in homeless animals like me.  I was at the shelter eight days when my human Mom, Grandma, and Grandpa adopted me.  My human Mom and Grandma first looked at the little kittens.  My human Grandpa found me.  He took me to show my human Mom and Grandma.  They fell in love.  But I gave my heart to my human Grandpa. :-)  My human Mom, Grandma, and Grandpa couldn't take me home right away.  First, I had to be spayed and the shelter had to contact my human Mom's vet to make sure everything was OK.  On Wed., Dec. 12th, I was spayed.  On Thurs., my human Mom and Grandma came to pick me up.  It was such a happy night being able to go home with my new family!

On my first night in my new home, I was soo scared.  I didn't like Annie Boo, the dog, because she was so big and she's a dog.  The cat, Callie, who already lived there didn't like me.  She would ignore me (and still does).  She sometimes hissed and growled at me. :-(

The first night home, I slept in the warm bathroom.  My human family thought I should sleep there until I got used to my surroundings.

When I awoke the next morning, my human Mom came into the bathroom and played with me while she got ready for work.  This went on until I was allowed the run of the house.  Every morning, when my human Mom came in the bathroom, I would cry because I was so happy to see her!

When I first came to live with my human family, I got a cold.  Off I went to the vet.  I had to take some yucky medicine for a bit. :-(  The Thursday before Christmas I went back to the vet so I could get my stitches out of my tummy.

I've had blast here so far!  I get into my human Grandma's arrangements and chew on them.  Poor Grandma has had to put some of them away.  I climb up on the bookcase in the family room. he he he  I love to play.  I am not afraid of the granchildren at all.

Best of all, i love to snuggle!  I will sleep with the grandchildren.  I sleep on the back of human Grandpa's recliner.  I love to sleep under Grandma and Grandpa's bed.  During the sunny days, one can find me sunning.
