I was born on June 15th under the astrological sign of Gemini.  I have lived in the greater Kansas City area all of my life.

Many years ago, I graduated from Raytown South High School.  After graduating from high school, I went on to attend the University of Kansas.  My major was social work. 

I am unemployed as of June 30, 2007.  AEGON®/Transamerica Occidental Life Insurance Company® decided to move all its operations to Cedar Rapids, IA.  Moving to Cedar Rapids was not an option.  I found out on January 11, 2007, that the company was moving all operations to Cedar Rapids by the end of the year.  On April 23, 2007, I received my official notice that my job was ending on June 30, 2007.

I worked at AEGON®/Transamerica Occidental Life Insurance Company® in Kansas City for eight years and three months.  

Before working in the life insurance industry, I was unemployed for over two years.  I became unemployed on January 2, 1997, due to a layoff.  I worked for a non-profit organization for five-and-a-half years.  The board of directors decided to restructure the organization because of internal problems. 

During my two-plus year layoff, I spent a lot of time online doing the following: working on my homepage, searching the web, and helping people with computer problems (both hardware and software).

I was born with a rare craniofacial anomaly called arhinia.  Arhinia is the absence of the nose.  It includes other craniofacial anomalies and impairments.  Because of the arhinia, I was born with a midline cleft, wide-spaced eyes, and other anomalies.  For more information about arhinia and how it affects me, please visit My Life in this section of this website.
