Giving Credit

Issues

There are people who build webpages who do not give people credit for the graphics on their webpages.  Or they forget where they got the graphics and put up a credits' page.  A lot of times people just don't bother to link back or they create a credits page where they post all the places where they got their graphics.  People don't remember where they got their graphics from.  I was guilty of doing a credits' page until I learned it was not the right thing to do.  There are lots of graphic artisits who spend hours creating graphics for others to use on their personal webpages.  And people often don't give them the credit they so rightfully deserve.

The people who make graphics and offer them for others to use often require you to link back to their graphics site.  This is called linkware.  For instance, if I offered free graphics for you to use on your webpage, I would require a link back to my graphics site, which would be http://www.simplykristi.com/webgraphics/ on the page(s) where you used my graphics.

As you are building your webpage and you use someone else's free graphics, please be sure to keep a list of where you got the graphics for your webpage and adding a link to the graphic artist's site on the page where you use that graphic artists' graphic(s).
